NATIONAL MUSEUM OF CAPODIMONTE - Private tour
INFO
The museum is located in the eighteenth-century palace built as a leisure residence on the edge of the Capodimonte wood, where King Charles of Bourbon and Queen Maria Amalia loved to organize hunting trips. The collections of artwork are spread over the various floors of the building, giving life to one of the most important modern art museums in Italy which boasts masterpieces by Simone Martini, Masaccio, Raphael, Michelangelo, Titian and Caravaggio. The visit to the main floor, where some rooms such as the Ballroom, the Salottino Pompeiano or the Queen's Boudoir (transferred from the Portici Palace) are preserved intact, restores the elegance and atmosphere of court life.
