The Vergini and the Rione Sanità are among the oldest, most populous and fascinating districts of Naples. Originally located outside the city walls, they preserve several ossuaries, the catacombs and the famous Fontanelle cemetery with the “capuzzelle” but also many noble palaces and magnificent churches. There is a strong contrast between the works of famous contemporary street artists who decorate the facades of buildings or squares and the noble architecture of palaces and churches of the eighteenth century. Walking the streets and alleys of Sanità is an incredible and overwhelming experience because you discover the narrow streets dedicated to culture, those that have served as a backdrop for film sets or the places where the famous actor Antonio de Curtis, known to most, grew up and lived with the name of Totò.

ITINERARY

Incontro con la guida e tour a piedi del Rione Sanità che comprende la visita al Palazzo dello Spagnuolo, Palazzo Sanfelice, esterno della casa di Totò, vicolo della cultura, chiesa di Santa Maria della Sanità detta del Monacone e per concludere una sosta in una nota pasticceria per assaggiare il “fiocco di neve”.

Segnaliamo la chiusura temporanea del Cimitero delle Fontanelle, dovuta a lavori di adeguamento della struttura da parte del Comune di Napoli. Pertanto le visite guidate al sito sono sospese fino alla riapertura dello stesso.
